From: levana33@hotmail.com *SOMEWHERE* By Elf Girl @->->-@}-}-@->->-@}-}-@->->-@}-}- Rant- My New Year's resolution. Actually write and post a RK fanfic on this Mailing list before the year 2000 hits! *sigh* That'll be the day. My first attempt at a RK (song?)fic isn't very good, I'm afraid. . . There's something about it that doesn't flow right. . . perhaps it would of worked better as a vid-fic. Disclaimer- I don't own Rurouni Kenshin de gozaru. . . I don't own 'Somewhere' from 'Slayers', Namagomi. . . I don't even own this computer *sigh*. . . What do I own? Sore wa himitsu de gozaru yo. . . ^_^ @->->-@}-}-@->->-@}-}-@->->-@}-}- *Music starts* < Somewhere in the world > < Somewhere in the dark > The rurouni sighed as he slumped slowly to the ground, his road weary body having finally given out on him. He leaned against a tree just off the road's path, the small stream's rushing water soothing him. It was dark now, but even with the glowing moon over head and the dancing fireflies that twinkled in the night, he had still managed to trip over various vegetation. He'd continue being a wanderer in the morning. In almost no time, he felt himself drift off to sleep, waiting for the expectant nightmare to come and haunt him. < I can hear the voice that calls my name > "Kenshin?" a worried voice inquires. Always worried for him. He hated to make her worry. He looked up from what he was doing to focus his attention on the young woman in front of him. < Might be a memory- > He blinked as the sun blinded him slightly. The young woman looked down at him. Midnight black hair that framed her face, gently moving as the wind willed. Blue innocent eyes that shone with worry. Hands folded in front of her. The sun created a halo of light behind her, giving her an unearthly glow and shading the rest of her face from his eyes. < Might be my future- > "Hai, Kaoru-dono? Is something wrong?" < Might be a love, waiting for me > "N-no. It wasn't anything very important," she answered. The worried look faded from her features as she smiled. "I just wanted to know what you were thinking, that's all. . ." < Rock me gently, > < Hug me tenderly- > Ayame and Suzume run up to Kenshin and each grabbed a handful of his white hakama. They tugged persistently, big eyes looking up at him demandingly. "Ken-nii! Ken-nii! Come play with us!" the older of the two cried. "Come play!" the younger one mimicked. Kenshin couldn't help but laugh at their exuberance in life. His laughter was soon joined by his friends' who were standing behind him watching, these antics. < Till the morning breaks, night fades away > < I spend my time in vain- > The past always came back to haunt him in his dreams. The death, the blood, the pain, the loss. All those people he had ever come to care about that had died by his bloodied hand or someone else that had wanted to hurt him- < Trapped inside pain > He would never forget them. < Don't let me down- > But his friends were always there for him no matter what. < Help me see the light > There was always the future to look forward to. < Feeling bitter and twisted all along > He looked around the dinner table. Yahiko was complaining about how inedible the food was while wrestling Sano who was trying to steal an item off of his plate. Misao, on a visit to the dojo, gave off an occasional wail for her Aoshi-sama who was no where to be seen. Chaos ensues. < Waiting through an empty life too long > Kaoru and Megumi had launched into an all out war on how lacking her cooking skills were to be the proper wife for someone. More chaos ensues. < I close my eyes > < Listen to the wind > Ayame and Suzume had already nodded off after they had finished their meal. They slept peacefully in a corner, despite the noise that hovered around them. Dr. Genzai just sat quietly eating his meal, having been desensitized by all this from past meals. < Longing to belong to a higher place > Kenshin couldn't help but smile. He was so lucky to have them. < Let me hear your voice > Kenshin peeked inside the room, not wanting to intrude upon such a peaceful sight. His wife sat gently rocking a tiny bundle in her arms. A content smile lighted her face as she quietly hummed a tuneless song. She looked up when she finally sensed eyes watching her. Eyes still bright with wonder reached out a hand for his, wanting this picture to be complete. < Let me be with you > After so long, the world finally felt right. No more battles, no more heart break. Just the sense of security he had finally found in this little family of his. The life line that had kept him from being lonely all these years. < When the shadow falls down under me > Yahiko, Sanosuke, Megumi, Dr. Genzai, Ayame, Suzume, Misao- even Aoshi. . . but most of all- Kaoru. < Like a bird singing > "Kenshin?" < Like a breeze blowing > Kaoru turned towards him, a gently smile on her face as she held out her left to him. His eyes widened as he looked at her, the sunlight streaming in the background, giving her a shining blue aura. "Okaeri nasai." < It's calling me- > "Tadaima de gozaru. . ." < It's somewhere in the world. . . > Kenshin woke up feeling refreshed, more put at ease than he had felt in a long while. He paused for a minute, trying to remember what he had been dreaming about but found he couldn't. Whatever it was, it must of been more better than what he had been dreaming off in these past ten years. Shouldering the little bag of whatever possessions he still owned, he set out upon the morning fog covered path. He hadn't walked more than a few blocks when his sharp senses heard the rasping sound of sandals hitting the ground at a quick and steady pace. Something slid up behind him, a few paces back, making him turn. And a voice. . . A voice that calls to him- < Somewhere in the world. . . > "Matte! Matte, Hitokiri Battousai!" @->->-@}-}-@->->-@}-}-@->->-@}-}-@->->-@}-}- I love that song. . . so I don't know why I put it through all this. You can find this song 'Somewhere' at the end of last episode of 'Slayers Try'. It's sung by the seiyuu of the character Filia. Insane thought, just in the spirit of the holidays- Aoshi in a Santa suit, handing out toys to kids. . . heh, heh- excuse me while I go and put the male cast of 'Slayers' in Sailor Senshi uniforms. . .
