***means the viewpoint has changed to and from the Predator.

Chapter 1

Kamiya Kaoru looked up at the stars.  She wiped the hair from her sweaty face with the back of her hand.  It was so hot this summer!  She gasped as she saw a bright shooting star fall, and closed her eyes and made a wish.

Her eyes then burst open as a running Yahiko jumped off of her head, and Sanosuke running after him.  She fell over, face slamming onto the ground. She looked up, eyes devilish, and grabbed her bokken.  She charged forward after Sanosuke, who was yelling something about some "last rice cake", until a crack went throughout the atmosphere.  Sanosuke tumbled to the ground, a giant welt on his head.  Yahiko laughed and ate the rest of the rice cake. He smiled as he swallowed the last bit, and frowned at the sight of Sanosuke AND Kaoru charging him.  He let out a small *erk* before being pummeled.

-3 days Later- =Inside the Kamiya Dojo=-

"Yeah, the little bastard got what he deserved!" Sanosuke laughed, chewing on some grass.  Kaoru frowned at Sanosuke and looked at Yahiko.  If she hadn't known it was her who did it, she wouldn't recognize his face, especially with his tongue hanging out.  Megumi placed another wet rag on his head, and smiled.

"He should be alright, just with a bit more rest.  You guys really let him have it, didn't you?" Megumi said.

Sanosuke laughed, adding "Damn right!  He took the last rice cake! He's lucky I didn't Futae No Kiwami his ass!"

At this point, Kenshin walked into the room.  He looked at the group and sat down.  He placed his Sakaba to lean on him, and he looked at Yahiko, then at Kaoru, and then Sanosuke.  He pulled out a letter from his robe, and gave it to Kaoru.  Kaoru opened it and read the letter.  It read:

"To my friends at the Kamiya Dojo,

Something terrible has happened here in Kyoto.  Just yesterday, I got word of a horrible murder in the town late last night.  I went to see what had happened, and found Cho, dead on the ground, his head missing!  The ground didn't seem to be disturbed, as if a struggle hadn't even happened!  Whoever did this is obviously very powerful, and it scares me being here.  The Oniwa Banshu and I are moving to Tokyo, where there is less violence, so we should be in town about the same time you get this letter!
Hope to see you soon!
Makamichi Misao"

Kaoru, eyes widened, placed the letter down, and looked at Kenshin. Annoyed, Sanosuke grabbed the letter, and read it.  His face became red, and he threw down the letter as he stood up, and turned to walk.

"The murderer will come here." Kenshin commented.  Sanosuke stopped and turned.  "I have heard tales of a person who comes on only the hottest of seasons, and takes the heads of who he kills.  He only kills for sport, and takes thrills in the hunt.  I fear for Misao-dono and the Oniwa Banshu. With any luck, they should be able to make it here, but I'm not sure.  This person always searches for the strongest of fighters, and the Oniwa Banshu are perfect for him...".  Sanosuke turned and walked outside just as Yahiko awoke.

"I hope they are alright..." Kaoru thought.

-2 days earlier- =Kyoto Train Station=-

"Okay, is that all, Ji-ya?" Misao asked as she put the last of her luggage on board.  He nodded in reply, his wrinkled face smiling.  Misao looked around.  Aoshi had already gone onto the train, and the rest of the Oniwa Banshu said they had to stay for about another week before moving on, so only Okina and Aoshi were going to Tokyo with her.  It was near sunset, and many people were going home.  Misao looked at Kyoto for the last time, and stepped onto the train.  As she did, she felt a cold shiver run down her back, but thought nothing of it.  Okina and her found their cabin and stepped in.  Surprisingly, Aoshi wasn't there.  Misao became worried, but Ji-ya reassured her by saying that he had probably just gone to the bathroom or to get a drink.  That comforted Misao, and she sat.  She just didn't want to lose Aoshi as she had before, and he finally just started acting like his normal self again.  Misao heard an "all aboard" and the train lurched forward.

A skull fell to the roof of a building, and the image behind it became distorted.  A few blips sounded, and a creature appeared behind the skull. The Predator picked up his prize from the night before and looked at it.  He admired the smoothness of the humans' skulls. This one had been particularly hard to clean, due to all of the yellow hair.  This one had proved to be an easy match.  The predator had turned off his invisibility field to show himself to the human, who just stopped and yelled.  It had then pulled out some ribbon blade, and twirled it around.  The predator had only to calculate what would happen with the ribbon, and charge forward.  He sliced the humans head off, and his body fell to the ground, leaving the predator disappointed.

The predator picked up a strange sound from his rear, and stood up to see what it was.  About a mile away, he saw a long carriage of some sort starting to rush  forward.  Intrigued, the predator placed his trophy into his bag and jumped from building to building until he was close enough to the train to jump on.

Misao heard a clang from above, and looked up, some dust falling into her eyes.  She rubbed them, and saw some dents coming inward.  Something must have fallen onto the train's roof.  Misao pondered a bit, until she heard a scream from down the hall.  She ran towards the door, and opened it, Okina right behind her.

The wall of the train car was burst open, and Misao counted two people on the ground.  She saw a blur next to the blast hole, and rubbed her eyes to get out the rest of the dust.  She opened her eyes again, and the blur was gone.  She saw Aoshi coming down the hall, and she yelled to him.

"Aoshi, what happened?"

"I think a terrorist hit the train with a bomb or so-" Aoshi replied, but he was cut off by turning and parrying a claw floating in the air.  He pulled out his other Kodachi and sliced at the air, but hit nothing.  The claw let go as he swiped and dissapeared.

By now, people were fleeing from the car and going to the back.  The two people on the ground were helped up and taken back.  Two officers came into the car, but were sliced in two by an unseen force.  Misao felt a presence behind her, and she jumped forward, narrowly missing a swipe to her back.  She looked back, and saw a huge form standing in front of the door. Okina was standing in front of the eight-foot tall humanoid.  He couldn't move until the creature pushed him aside.  It took a step forward, crushing a bit of wood under it's foot.  It's dreadlocked-hair swayed a bit back and forth in his motion, and Misao looked at it's face.  The attacker seemed to be
wearing a mask of some sort, but Misao saw the rest of him fine.  It had light green skin and was mottled with darker patches here and there.  It wore a mesh-type armor and had two pairs of claws on the top of it's wrists.  Misao stepped behind Aoshi, hoping he could get rid of it.

A silence fell over the car, and except for the constant rumble of the train, there wasn't a sound.  Suddenly, the beast, armed with a spear seemingly grabbed from the air, rushed forward, slashing at Aoshi, who jumped through the hole in the roof and wall.  The beast looked at Misao, but jumped up after Aoshi.  Okina ran over to her, and they peeped their heads above the roof.

Up top, the beast threw something at Aoshi, who held his kodachi upright.  A whipping sound was heard, and a net fell to the ground, cut in two.  Aoshi flipped his kodachis to perform the Kaiten-Kenbu-Rokuren, and ran forward.  He sliced at the enemy again and again, but felt nothing.  He stopped as he felt a sharp pain go into his left shoulder.  He looked and saw two claws sticking through his shoulder, blood dribbling down his coat.  Aoshi jumped forward, ripping the claws out of his flesh.  He turned and raised his other kodachi, still determined.  His vision went blurry for a second, but he ragained his posture and stood up.  He was about to attack again, when he heard a voice.

"Don't worry, Aoshi, I'll take him."

The predator looked at the human who interrupted his fight.  This one had even longer hair than the one he had killed the day before.  It was also much darker, and down to the humans waist.  It wore a long, white jacket, which was red on the inside.  The predator ran a scan check on this exceptional human, and saw that his fighting ability was the highest he had ever encountered!  The predator smiled under his helmet, knowing, even if he died, he would be honored in this fight.  It didn't matter if he did die, his whole clan of brothers were here looking for sport, also.

The predator charged forward in a blaze of glory, and all he saw was the human dissapear before him as the predator fell.

Hiko Seijirou watched the predator analyze him, and got ready.  The day had finally come when he had to fight a Hunter.  For as long as the style of  Hiten-Mitsurugi-Ryu had been around, one of the best kept secrets AND reasons for the creation of the style had been the Hunters.  They were the best of the best.  No one knew where they came from, they just knew that they did.

The Hunter charged forward in a straight line with it's claws ready. Hiko thought that this was strange.  Usually a Hunter would throw a saw disk at him and follow with a gun of some type that spewed out blue flame and throw their net at it's target.  At least, that's what Hiko's master told him, and what Hiko told Kenshin.  Hiko thought that this must be a rookie, so Hiko might as well teach him a lesson.  He shouted out his attack:

Hiten-Mitsurugi-Ryu...KUZU RYU SEN!

The Hunter fell apart at the vital points, spilling a glowing green blood all over the roof of the train.  Hiko cleaned and sheathed his sword, and turned to look at Aoshi and the others.  Misao and Okina's jaws were to the floor, and Aoshi had slumped to the ground.  Hiko lifted up his hand to stifle a yawn and then picked up Aoshi and jumped down to the inside of the car, smiling the whole time.

Misao thought to herself "Ohhhh....Hiko's SO cool!".

Well, that's that for Chapter one!  Watch out, because the whole clan of predators is looking for some trophies, also.

I REALLY want to know what you think of this nifty little fanfic, so e-mail me at evanrc@yahoo.com

*The Final Thought* (I know it's cheap)

I knew I had to kill off somebody, so I thought it might as well be a smaller character we didn't know TOO much about, so i thought CHO!  (sorry to all of you broom-head lovers out there)  And I also thought about the idea of having only one predator, but hey, a predator vs. Hiko?  Who's gonna win THAT, I mean, come on!  Hiko's the MAN!  BUT!  That predator didn't really know much, so he had to be killed.  Once the predators get word that Hiko killed a predator, they'll all be after him just for the chance to get him!

Oh yeah, none of these characters are mine, I just BORROWED them from their rightful places and put them here!  (mindless I-don't-want-to-be-sued crap!)

NEXT TIME, ON RUROUNI KENSHIN VS. PREDATOR!

Misao and her friends arrive in Tokyo and find out about the Hiten-Mitsurugi-Ryu's secret legends!  AND, can Sanosuke survive an attack with a decorated hunter?  Next Episode: "The Dragon's Legend Revealed!"
