Round 2 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Hmmm...." Saitoh snickered. Aoshi didn't blinked as he coolly looked at his would be opponents. Hiko kept his coolness as he was too busy addressing the amount of female fans cheering for him. Kaoru looked worried. Thoughts of Aoshi's, Saitoh's, and Hiko's fighting prowess glanced through her mind. She knew there's no way they could win the fight. No way. "Don't worry, Kaoru...we'll win....for sure." Megumi patted her shoulder reassuringly. An evil smile escaping her beautiful face all of a sudden. Kaoru looked on her side, where Tokio was sitting. Tokio was sitting by herself, silently, as usual. Kaoru could still remember the day when she was suddenly confronted by Tokio. After some much persistence, she agreed to let her in to the team, knowing little to none about her. Yet she sat coolly, just like what her husband do best. "Well well well.....as gentlemen ourselves, we'll announce our preference of who's going first and let the ladies decides their strategy." Hiko bloated. His glimmering white teeth sparkled through the sunlight as more girls fainted from the sight of it. Putting his hand covering his forehead, Hiko sighed. "Oh...why am I so cool??" "I shall meet the challenge first." A cold Aoshi answered. Withdrawing the twin kodachi from their sheath he slowly step on stage. His icy eyes freezing the very air itself. "Then I better go second. Wouldn't want to miss a fight." Hiko cheerfully answered. He looked at Saitoh. Saitoh has begun litting another cigaratte, ignoring his teammates. "So you'll be last, Saitoh....guess you won't be seeing any action eh?" Hiko sneered. "Fools, you don't know my wife." Saitoh muttered under all the smoke. ********************************* "So?" Kaoru asked. Megumi volunteered to go first much to Kaoru's objections. "Megumi!! You can't fight!!! How are you going to deal with Shinomori?" Megumi gave a wink to reassure Kaoru. Immediately she left and was already on the stage. Kaoru looked surprise as she didn't even saw Megumi walking up on stage. Dozens of question marks appeared above her head. "Guess I'll go against Hiko then....." Kaoru muttered. Then she looked at Tokio, her mind filled with sympathy. She will be facing her husband, a fight which will cause her physically, emotionally and spiritually. However, Kaoru stopped thinking as the gong was heard signalling the beginning of the fight. *Bong* *Bong* *Bong* "Megumi san, it's better if you admit defeat now. I wish not to fight a lady such as you." Aoshi coldly said. "Hah....you haven't seen the other side of me yet, Shinomori." Megumi daringly replied. The tone of her voice filled with so much confidence, much to everyone's surprise. She's a doctor, not a fighter. The result of this fight has already been determined from the start. "Then I shall not hold back my strike. I will pray for you when I win." closing his eyes, Aoshi quickly took out his kodachis and attacked Megumi. Megumi looked at the advancing Aoshi, his eyes showing no emotions, his face squirming in his own determination. Megumi has to act fast if she's to have any hope of winning this match. Quickly, she reached inside her kimono, pulling out a mysterious packet as she flung it towards the air. Aoshi just coolly leapt up high, away from the powder Megumi just flowered the air with. Neither smile nor relief came from both sides. Aoshi came crashing down with his kodachi aimed at Megumi's throat. Aoshi's landing created such a stir as the crowd goes silent. The girls covered their mouth in anticipation while the guys gritted their teeth. As the dust cleared, Megumi was standing with her back facing a kneeling Aoshi. "It's finished." Aoshi said coolly as he slowly lifted himself. "Of course it's finished, Shinomori." Megumi replied sarcastically. Instantly, the crowd goes dead silent as everyone stared in surprise. What could a doctor do in so little time as to evade the might Aoshi's attack. Suddenly, Aoshi's eyes widened in horror as blood slowly dripping out of his mouth. Megumi turned around with a smile. Aoshi couldn't believe what had happened. He knew clearly that his kodachi met her flesh. He could feel the cold blade parting the delicate flesh from her body. Why? Why? "You must be thinking you striked me, eh?" Megumi straightened herself up. "Those aren't normal baking powders there." Suddenly, Aoshi remembered Megumi spraying the air itself with some powder. He had thought those to be a blinding powder. "Those powders have illusory effect. You'll never know when you're affected." "Being a doctor doesn't necassary means making medicine, I could be making poison too. And being exposed to it so many times has made my body immune to my own creations." Megumi suddenly gave out a foxy laugh. The guy contigent suddenly roared with delight at their idol's trickiness. Megumi calmly bow to her expecting fans. "Megumi didn't tell us this before?" Sano bewildered. "Sano, have you forgotten she used to make opium?" Kenshin calmly replied. "So you mean those are opium powder?" "Perhaps, but much stronger in power I presume." "That foxy bitch...." Sanosuke clenched his fist tighter. "Ohohohohoho....seeing doubles of me now eh, Shinomori?" Megumi asked. Her eyes carefully examining her victim from a distance. Aoshi knew she was correct for now he was seeing 2 Megumis, no 3, no...4. His vision started to go blurry as his legs began losing it's strength. How could he fall to such a simple trick. How can he then returned the glory which was of the Oniwabansu. Aoshi concentrated hard, focusing his thoughts clearly. Megumi stood there chuckling evilly as she tried to cover her mouth with her cheeky little hands. Suddenly, horror struck her eyes as she saw Aoshi plunged the one of the kodachis straight into his left arm. The crowd went silent again. Blood came gushing out from the wound, dripping to the floor with a flurry of red. "Shimatta!!" Megumi gasped. With the pain, slowly the dizziness and the hallucination began disappearing. Lifting his head up, he shot an icy stare straight at Megumi. One which is telling her to prepare for the final blow. Removing the kodachi, Aoshi let out an unholy howl as he pounced on Megumi like a tiger. Utilizing his water flow movement, he confused the fightened Megumi into the center as he finished the attack with his Rokuren attack. The crowd gasped in awe and excitement, seeing Aoshi's hidden technique so early in the match. Yet theirs were nothing compared to the roaring of the male contigent. In the corner, Megumi was already accepting dozens of flowers commemorating her victory over Aoshi. Hiko stood there speechless. Saitoh continued smoking, but now he's dragging even harder from the scene he just saw. Maybe, just maybe, he had underestimated them. Aoshi lied down on the floor. Both his kodachis by his side. He could not accept what he saw. He was sure he did successfully landed a blow on her. Why? Why is the pain from my body, not hers? Have I slashed myself instead? "That's damn right. Those drugs are not those normal ones you encounter before. Don't think this is a stupid play or story. Those are my specially made drug. You think by just using pain you can shake off the effect? Too bad..." Megumi shrugged. "Then, may I have the honor of testing your drug?" Hiko suddenly went up. His shining teeth sparkled once again. "If you wished to...." The gong was heard again, signalling the second round of the match. ************************************** Megumi again used the same tactic she used on Aoshi on Hiko. Grabbing the packet from her kimono, she flunged it at Hiko. However, Hiko neither evade or block as he welcomed it with open arms. Megumi's eyes widened in surprise. After the powder cleared itself, a form of a man slowly approaching her. Hiko looked at her with his pitiful eyes. Giving out a charming smile, he began retracing his steps back to where he were. "Woman, your drug is just like sake to me. Drinking all those years have made my body rather immune to hallucinating drugs too." Hiko mentioned as he stopped at where he were before. Megumi could only gasped in horror. She knew then, the match is certainly over if Hiko wanted it. She could almost feel the sense of defeat near her lips. The scent of losing. "Anyhow, I'm a gentlemen and I'll go easy on you." He smirked as he turned around. Flinging his cape away, showing the muscular frame of his body along with those meaty flesh was enough to sent another half of the female audience into dream world. "This is my coolest move, for a cool lady like you and from a cool man like me!!!" "Hiten Mitsurugi Ryuu, Kuzu Ryu Sen!!!" Megumi could see those moves coming. The simulteneous nine sided attack. She saw Hiko splitted up into nine person, all striking at the same time. Yet fear had taken over her legs as she couldn't move nor run away. Then, Megumi closed her eyes awaiting the fate of the loser. Weirdly though, nothing came. Megumi opened her eyes only to see the tip of Hiko's katana pointed at her nose. Even a slight tremble now would cause the blade to pierce itself through her face. "I win, you lose, Megumi san!!!" Hiko proudly claimed as he waved to his league of happy fans behind. ********************************* Tokio took Megumi slowly out of the stage, the fright obviously freaking her out. Kaoru looked at Megumi worriedly. Part of her felt relief and thankful to Hiko for holding back. Part of her felt angry for letting her friend got nearly injured. Grasping the hilt of her bokken tighter, she slowly met Hiko on the stage. "So, Kaoru, has my baka deshi been treating you well?" Hiko joked. Kaoru could only blushed a little from Hiko's comments. Everything seemed fine until this stupid tournament. She didn't realise it would attract so many people at first. Knowing that if she won, the prize money could go into feeding the many mouths in her dojo again, then maybe Kenshin wouldn't have to go to work part time again. "So are you ready, Kaoru?" Hiko suddenly went serious. The charming smile gone, replaced by one which were looking for blood. Kaoru nodded politely. She unsheated her bokken and prepare to meet the deadly master of the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu school. Hiko let out a satisfied smile as he charges forward. Holding his katana at the back of him, he rushed in body first. The power of his body charged the wind as Kaoru felt she was being pushed back by the wind itself. Yet she kept her eyes on Hiko, never leaving him for a moment. Suddenly, Hiko was gone. Disappeared. *Poof* He was nowhere to be found. Kaoru looked around desperately. Knowing that if she can't see the enemy, then all is lost. However, the sound of the crowd gave Hiko's position off. Looking at the crowd, many were pointing their fingers high up in the air. Then it came to Kaoru. Hiko must have leapt up so fast that she didn't noticed it. She looked up into the sky. Hiko, utilizing the sun as a blindspot, came rushing down. Kaoru could only see a black form descending upon her like an eagle towards its prey. Then her ears heard some very familiar words. "Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu ........ Ryu Sui Sen!!!!!" Those words shocked her. She knew how the move was going to be executed. The power and weakness of this move. If only she could see her opponent. Finally, within seconds, she decided to leave it all up to Lady Luck and Fate to decide. Pointing her bokken upwards, she leapt up into the air. Hiko's wide grin turned into a loud painful howl as he dropped unto the ground with a loud thud. Kaoru landed clumsily, rolling to her side carefully. "Kenshin!!! You told her the secret of this move!!!!" Sanosuke glared at Kenshin. Kenshin nodded. "Baka!!! How come you never tell me before??" Sanosuke grabbed Kenshin's head by his arm before knocking it with his fist. "You should've told me, then at least I know one of your secret!!! I'm your friend too!! Baka Baka Baka!!!" "Orooo....oroooo....orooo....." The surprised look on many of the female faces did not fade even then. Tokio smiled at Kaoru cheerfully. Saitoh dropped his unfinished cigaratte on the ground. His mouth wide opened, he couldn't believed that's the secret to defeating one of Hiten Mitsurugi's most deadliest technique. "I did it!!!" Kaoru squealed in delight. "I did it!!!!!" Hiko was unconscious on the ground. His eyes rolled back into his head. Foam began appearing from his mouth as the bright lively face of his turned pale white. His katana looked unscathed as it lie quietly by his side. Both his hands painfully holding onto the part where his inner thighs met. ************************* Saitoh smiled. Litting another cigaratte, he proceeded on to the stage, his hands holding on to the sheath hanging on his belt. "They are quite good after all." he thought. Enishi looked excited at the match. His eyes gleamed with ideas as he witnessed the defeat of Hiko Seijuuro, Kenshin's master. Tonnes of evil ideas flooded his mind then. "Now not only he can't use his ougi against me, he can't use Ryu Sui Sen as well." Enishi evilly laughed. "Saitoh Hajime. The final member of the team. We will proceed onwards if I defeat you today." Kaoru thought. Saitoh on the other hand wasn't even concentrating or looking at Kaoru. His eyes were fixed upon his own wife. The woman who had dared go against him. The woman who had challenged his authority, and he the man who gladly accepted the challenge. Kaoru prepared her bokken in an offensive position. Feeling her feet grappling the ground steadily, she waited for Saitoh's attack. Suddenly, a warm feeling enveloped her as a hand touched her shoulders. "This is my fight, Kaoru san. Thank you so much for allowing me to join you." Kaoru looked back. "Tokio....." Tokio smiled warmly. A smile filled with love and gentleness. "This mean, I'll forfeit this match and you're the last one left." Kaoru explained. "Don't worry, Kaoru san, I'll make sure we proceed on....." Then Tokio glared at her husband with fires in her eyes. "And they go down the dumps........." Kaoru reluctantly agreed as she slowly stepped down. However, she hoped Tokio will be fine. She knew Saitoh was one who don't joke around, a serious man for any occasion. And clearly, with Megumi defeated, we can't use her expertise again. Tokio gave Saitoh a piercing look as he did the same to his wife. Both stood motionless, their eyes locked unto each other, yet no love was felt. Only anger, arguments and hate exists. Slowly Saitoh took out his katana with his left hand. Crouching slightly, he bended his right knee a little bit while his right hand held the tip of his blade. "That SHITHEAD!!! He's going to kill his wife!!!!" Sanosuke yelled at Kenshin. "That Gatotsu using freak is going to use Gatotsu against his wife!!!" "....." "....." "KENSHIN!!!!!!!" "Oro????" "Are you listening....we got to do something!!!!!" Then Sano looked at the SD expression from Kenshin's face as Kenshin kawaiily pointed to Tokio. His eyes wide with amazement. Sanosuke slowly turned his head around. Tokio held the bokken she borrowed from Kaoru with her right hand. She tore away the purplish kimono to reveal a beautifully made purple hakama within. Bending her left knee a little bit forward, she slowly put her left hand on the tip of the bokken. "What!!!! That's a Gatotsu stance too!!! But she's using it with her right hand!!!" Sanosuke gasped. To be continue.............................................
