Enjoy... Turn the Page A Vidclip for RK by: Hiko (cronusz@bellsouth.net) Original Song by Bob Seger (1973) Covered by Metallica, from Garage, Inc or Turn the Page Single (1998/1999) (What can I say? Metallica is the only band in America that I still have faith in anymore...and they rock!) *Note: Anyone who hasn't heard this song, but really wants to (I HIGHLY recommend it), email me, i'll send you an RA file or MP3 or something. I'm not promoting piracy here, but it really helps to hear the song. Just delete it within a day and all will be well.* *Note2: I also modified a word or two so it would fit the video. These will be noted in ( ) what the ORIGINAL lyric was. It just makes it fit a bit better, I'm sure you'll see why ^_^ [Guitar begins slowly, setting is a dirt road, the sun blazing in the background, signs of a city in the distance.] On a long and lonesome highway east of Tokyo(Omaha) [A shadowed figure in tattered clothing walks beside a train track] You can listen to the engine moanin' out his one note song [A train blasts by, causing the figure's clothing to blow to the side] You think about the woman or the girl you knew the night before [The shadowed man walks along, a girl's face shadowed behind him, a long ponytail and very neutral face accompanying it] But your thoughts will soon be wandering the way they always do [Kenshin's face slowly comes into view, as he slowly walks the path] When you're ridin' sixteen hours and there's nothin' much to do [Kenshin sits on the back of a wagon, clutching his sword and small sack of belongings, staring out into space] And you don't feel much like ridin' [Kenshin sighs, scratching his scar] You just wish the trip was through [He fidgets, then sighs again and jumps off as he comes to an intersection] Here I am [Kenshin begans to trek down one of the dirt paths] On the road again [His face shown as he walks along, his eyes looking dreary] There I am [Kenshin is slaughtering enemies at the battle of Toba & Fushimi] Up on the stage [His eyes glitter amber as his face turns to another enemy] Here I go [He stands on a small hill, overlooking the battle] Playin' star again [Katsura nods to him, he charges into the fray] There I go [His form is seen charging...] Turn the page [...and the vision fades out, only to fade in to another shadowed man] Well you walk into a restaurant, strung out from the road [The shadowed man walks into a place, a large sack on his shoulders, much of his body covered in bandages] And you feel the eyes upon you as you're shakin' off the cold [He shivers the rain off, and walks up to a table, setting his things down as he looks over his shoulder in suspicion] You pretend it doesn't bother you but you just want to explode [He sits down, the character on his jacket showing prominently, and he rests his forehead into his bandaged arms, gritting his teeth.] Most times you can't here 'em talk, other times you can [Some of the regulars mouths are moving, some motions towards Sanosuke. Sano's eyes dart to the side as hears someone speak] All the same old cliches, "Is that a woman or a man?" [Sano face faults] And you always seem outnumbered, you don't dare make a stand [He says nothing of the chatter about him, and begins to wolf his meal down] Make your stand... [Sano pours some sake, drinks it, and gets up to leave. As usual, he forgets to pay...] Here I am [Sano ties his red bandanna around his prominent spiked hair] On the road again [Adjusting his knapsack, he continues to walk along a dirty road] There I am [Sano is shown marching along with the Sekihoutai as a young boy] Up on the stage [Souzou grins at the mention of 'Sagara' Sanosuke] Here I go [Young Sano follows him as he walks away] Playin' star again [Fade into Souzou bleeding after being shot, Sano attempting to bring him to safety] There I go [Souzou shoves him off the cliff into the water] Turn the page [Souzou's form is shot by bullets, and the imagery fades...] Out there in the spotlight you're a million miles away [Sano sees an illusion of Souzou in the distance by the setting sun] Every once of energy you try to give away [Sano brawls in the streets of a village against many large opponents] As the sweat pours out your body like the music that you play [Kenshin pants heavily from exertion as he fights foe after foe... The visions mix with each other, and then fade to a sky littered with bright stars] Later in the evening as you lie awake in bed [Saitou lies down on a futon, exhausted from battle in Toba/Fushimi, still clad in Shinsen Gumi attire] With the echoes from the amplifiers ringin' in your head [Memories of the many he killed seem to pound his temple] You smoke the day's last cigarette, rememberin' what she said [He lights up, and his face turns thoughtful] What she said... [He shakes his head, and takes another drag] *Absolutely Killer Guitar Solo* *that only Metallica can do :P* [Various scenes of Kenshin and Sano wandering through towns, stopping occasionally to eat, or Kenshin doing dishes for food, Sano simply not paying...Saitou conversing with Hijikata and Okita, Okita coughing harshly, Saitou simply watching as he does so...] Here I am [Saitou is shown seated in a carriage alone] On the road again [The sky is deep orange and red from the setting sun] There I am [He arrives at a building, labeled 'Japanese Defense Ministry'] Up on the stage [He introduces himself to Kawaji, and becomes an officer of the secret police...] Here I go [He dons his police uniform and cap, smiling] Playin' star again [He mounts his sword on his hip, and tightens the belt] There I go [He's shown exiting the building...] Turn the page [The screen darkens, negatively against his retreating form.] Here I am [Kenshin bows before the restaurant owner, looking suspiciously like Tae ^_~] On the road again [He kneels to adjust his sandals, throws his bag on his shoulder, and begins his trek anew] There I am [Saitou walks through the streets of Tokyo in uniform] Up on the stage [He smiles to himself, you know, the Saitou (TM) smile? ] Here I go [Sanosuke throws his bags to the side, cracks his knuckles...] Playin' star again [..and proceeds to whup the stuffing out of some gangsters] There I go [Pictures of the three are superimposed on each other, they slowly draw towards another...] Turn the page [And the image flips as if being turned in a book, and then, darkness.] End.
