Jen ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As usual, characters do not belong to me, and I'm just borrowing them in hope to entertain the people in this world. ^.^ Ano, my 1st parody ever, hope it makes sense. The Tale of Cinderella and her Prince Charming??!! ~ the new Rurouni Kenshin version. By Jen Once upon a time in a far away land, a happy couple had just given birth to a beautiful baby girl. The father, Saitoh, was a high-ranked police officer, and the mother Tokio was a beautiful lady. But as a 'typical' fairy tale, the mother died tragically when the baby, Kaoru was very young due to the excess amount of second-hand cigarette smoke she was exposed to. (Thanks to her husband, but we would not go into that matter.) After the death of his wife, Saitoh was heart broken, but somehow managed to marry another women, Megumi. Megumi moved into their home with her 2 daughter, Tsubame and Misao, and lived there for a few happy years. The father also died when Kaoru was 13 and Megumi's wicked-stepmother character immediately surfaced. Our poor Kaoru was not treated nicely at all because of her beauty and was forced out of her room by her step-sis, Misao, into the kitchen. And hence the nickname of 'Cinderella' was established. In her life in the kitchen, Kaoru became friend with Sanosuke the mouse, and Jen the little birdie. For 5 years, Kaoru spent in the kitchen, doing all the chores including cooking the meals and became really good at it too. Then one day, everything changed. The messenger boy form the castle, Yahiko, came and delivered the invitation to the ball in the castle. At the ball, the King and Queen hoped that the Prince would find a girl and marry her, since the Prince wasn't a particularly open person and was rather picky as well. Since the invitation stated that 'every single female was eligible to attend', and of course, Kaoru wanted to go too. Even Tsubama, ever the sweet nature one, had asked Megumi for Kaoru. But Megumi still gave no as the answer. On the night of the ball, Kaoru was ordered round the house to get this and that and to help dress her stepsisters up. After they left for the ball, Kaoru was exhausted and almost collapsed in the garden. Just when she was thinking about the ball again, a knock was heard at the back gate. She went to open the door and wondered who in world would come at this time of the day. At the door, she saw a beggar look-alike person. That person had the dirtiest clothes Kaoru had ever seen and was as thin as a stick. All the beggar wanted was some food and drink, but Kaoru took pity on the beggar and invited the beggar in. After the beggar was fed, Kaoru even invited the beggar to stay for the night, since her mother would be late anyway. The beggar was very grateful, but still spotted the distracted look on Kaoru's face. The beggar enquired about what was bothering her and Kaoru told the beggar about the ball. After hearing her, the beggar merely smiled and *poof!* turned into a fairy. Kaoru nearly fainted as the sight of a fairy godfather in front of her. Not only that he was a fairy, he was also very good-looking. The fairy godfather introduced himself as Kenshin and asked Kaoru to bring him some mice and birds so he could prepare her for the ball. (Sano the mouse and Jen the little birdie were already waiting for Kaoru to call them, but the call never came, so they waited and waited and waited....) After meeting with the fairy, Kaoru thought she no longer wanted to go the ball for she had fallen in love with this fairy whom appeared from nowhere. And being the good old fairy where happy ending was all over the place, Kenshin the fairy had also fallen in love with Kaoru. In a few minutes time, they had decided to elope and never return to this place. And so, this was precisely what they did. And of course Kaoru and Kenshin lived happily ever after. On the other hand, the sisters arrived at the ball and found it extremely boring. All the Prince did was sat in his throne and stared. Misao being her loud and noisy self got really pissed and started shouting all over the place. This caught the Prince's attention and he walked over to Misao and told her to shut up. The really drunk Misao was angered by his instruction (she was too drunk to realized that he was the prince) and began to scream straight into his face. The Prince, Aoshi, decided that he liked her personality and wanted to marry her. Megumi was more than happy to marry off her daughter to a prince, and the King and Queen were shocked at Aoshi's choice, but did nothing to stop him. The 2 of them got married rather quickly and the castle transformed into a noisy place from that day on. Last but not least, our little Tsubama found Yahiko, and this pair of little lover had stayed together ever since. And just to tie things up a bit, Sano the mouse and Jen the little birdie continued to wait for Kaoru's call, and Megumi moved into the castle with her girls and stayed there for the rest of her life! Author's note: This is a real quickie and this idea came to me during my skiing holiday. ^.^ Sorry if I've bored you guys to death, but I thought I'll write it up and post it anyway. If this fic is not making sense, please tell me and I'll correct it jen_niem@yahoo.com . *yawn and stretch* I've been practising in the school production for the past 2 weeks and the 1st performance was this evening. ^.* ------------------------------------------------------------------------ New hobbies?
