Subject: [KFFDisc] A Place Called Home Date: Wed, 3 Mar 1999 07:02:48 -0800 (PST) From: Herald-Captain Kerowyn Reply-To: kenshinfanfics@egroups.com To: kenshinfanfics@egroups.com Ok I think these are called songfics..... or is it a vid fic, I get confused @_@ Oh yeah this is full of Kyoto Hen spoilers, so if you haven’t seen it and don’t want to be spoiled, run, run far, far away now ^_^ Special Thanks to Thea, Ying, and Jillmercy from the Lighthouse who were kind enough to read this first attempt at a songfic and tell me what I needed to fix. Thanks you Fushigi Yuugi obsessed fangirls! (passes out Seishi lollipops to all of them) Now on to the show! A Place Called Home by Between Thieves (A Christian band formerly known as Judah) Searching for security in the wink of passing time Leaning on a love that transcends the span of time Holding to a hand that helps me find my way A sunshine in my darkness, a light in every day [Kenshin searches within himself for the answer to what it is in his life he is missing. As his hand hovers above his sakabato, he sees in a quick succession of flashes the answer to his dilemma. He feels the softness of the hair ribbon Kaoru hands him by the riverside, and smells the gently wafting smell of her scent, jasmine. He sees the depth of her endless blue eyes and gentle nervous smile as she stood in the doorway to Hiko’s, her form unmistakeable behind Misao and Yahiko. Roaring from his heart as he finds the will to live to survive, he draws his blade unleashing his bursting soul against his shishou.] Oh I’ve finally found a place that I call home It fills my heart and it thrills my soul to be home [His eyes search around the dojo as he calls out "Tadaima" after returning from buying the tofu. He hears her silent footfalls and turns to see her in the doorway of the dojo, a bright smile on her face as she welcomes him home.] Sometimes my future is the hardest thing to face But the presence of your love my fears cannot erase [Kenshin’s eyes softly glow in an amber color, as his hand grips the sheath of his sword with grim determination as he softly utters the names of Shishio, Soujirio, and Aoshi , the foes he must face and overcome. He looks before him at the doors to Shishio’s mansion, and for the fleeting of moments in his mind’s eye he sees Kaoru’s worried eyes, and in reaction one soft little quirk of his lip reflects on his face. Kaoru.] A friend that loves so freely in a world of cruel hate The face, that in my dreams, my memory can’t forsake [Kenshin as he walks forward, is surrounded by memories, memories of her. He hears her voice speaking the words that soothed his bleeding heart, "I don’t care about your past." His head bows momentarily as Saitoh, Sanosuke, and he walk forward down the halls. He sees her face when she realizes that he stayed, the genuine relief mirrored in her eyes spread throughout him warming him, and he raises his head in pure determination.] Oh I’ve finally found a place that I call home It fills my heart and it thrills my soul to be home [He feels in his heart the rush of homesickness as he recalls the times Suzame and Ayame tumble into the yard with happy playful cries of "Ken-nii!" He feels the soft brush of her hand or the person who gives you solace as she gently takes the tofu bucket from his hands, laughter lingering on her lips as she watches the way he plays with the little girls.] The mystery of tomorrow still lies out of sight And the feeling of uncertainty wakes me in the night [Kenshin briefly thinks, Will I survive to go home to Kaoru,. He then mentally berates himself, I will go home. The determination belying his restless slumber just this past night, as he tossed in the darkness worried if he could keep all his promises, all his commitments, most especially the unspoken one to Kaoru, to come home.] But knowing that you’ll always be inside my heart Makes it seem much easier knowing our paths will never part. [As Kenshin defeats Shishio with the last of his strength, falling to the ground. Kaoru… wait for me, soon, soon He thought as he slipped away unconscious.] Oh I’ve finally found a place that I call home It fills my heart and it thrills my soul to be home [Kenshin awakens at the Aoiya. He senses more than sees her. Her jasmine scent tickles his nose, and he slowly forces his eyes to open, stiff and groggy from their long slumber and sees her crying. Kaoru. His eyes closed again briefly in pain, I keep making you cry, gomen.] Thrills my soul to be home… [Kenshin accepts Kaoru’s outstretched hand in front of the Dojo after returning to Tokyo. The warmth of the sun was nothing compared to the warmth in her pooling eyes, in her brightening smile that dazzled him as he felt waves of some sensation he could only vaguely call that was home. That she was his home.] (end) If anyone knows how to make a MP3 could they e-mail privately. I’d like to make a MP3 of the song below since it’s such an unpopular band. I would like to know the process what programs I need to use to encode etc… and I’d prefer specific names of the programs, and of course I’d keep your e-mail on file so when I completely get stumped on something I can get some help. ^_^ I’d appreciate it very much! C & C is very much welcomed on this fic, I hope for a first attempt at a song fic (or is it a vid fic?) it does the medium some justice. ^_^ And now, let’s get to it! === Wind to thy wings, Herald-Captain Kerowyn "Why does everything come back to haunt me in my head?" http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Lofts/1276 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Internet FileZone: Always FREE!
