From: L X NOTE: Ok, I'm not the best poet in the word so some of these syllables are off and the grammar's not totally correct (I did that to make the syllables work). Gomen nasai. I don't even know if there are such things as narrative haikus. I wrote this last year when my english class just finished narrative poems and started on haikus. I'm also not sure how to pronounce some names so I've don't the best I could. I wrote this when i thought Tomoe was two syllables long so that may explain somthing. That's about it. Enjoy! Stuff between the ~~~~~~~ are flashbacks. DISCLAIMERS: Rurouni Kenshin does not belong to me. It belongs to its respectful owners. Standard disclaimers apply. Narrative Haikus on Kenshin's Scar by: Lily-dono Kenshin's favorite spot Secret, secluded, serene Place by the river Glancing at water Sees his reflection, his scar Remembers its past... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tomoe's fiancee Kiyosato he met and Had a fight with him The metals clashed Battousai easily won Opponent was down Before death, he left First half of Kenshin's cross scar Forever marked him Later, he must hide A couple's less suspicious Than a lone young man Forced to wed Tomoe He found happiness with her Who smelled like white plums Enishi tries to Get Tomoe to return, but doesn't understand She wants him to leave Defending her "enemy" He left angrily Tomoe blames herself For her Kiyosato's death She could not stop him He comforts Tomoe Ensures her he'll protect her Happiness, from now on Next day, she tries to Kill the Shogunate leader To protect Kenshin She fails, gets knocked out Awoke to find him fighting for Tomoe, who else? She tries to shield him But Tomoe's timing was off Kenshin was slashing His blade struck Tomoe When he realized it was her It was much too late The small knife she held Gave his scar the other half Falling from her hand He cradles Tomoe Life and warmth ebbing away He wept for her life She musters a smile "It was meant to be this way... Please don't cry, my love."* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kenshin bows his head A single tear rolls down his cheek He brings one hand up "Kenshin, you alright?" A soft voice questioning him Kenshin raised his head Two blue eyes peered down Her hand wipes the tears away He grins at her touch "Yes, Kaoru-dono." "I have lost Tomoe, but gained Kaoru," Kenshin thought She helped Kenshin up They walked back to her dojo He looks at the sky Seems to see Tomoe Scent of white plums filled the air Smiling down at him Recalls her last words, "It was meant to be this way... Please don't cry, my love."* Kenshin smiles back "I won't cry, Tomoe, my love." As her image fades Wind whispers her words, "It was meant to be this way... Please don't cry, my love."* *-Obviously, those were not her exact words (coz I needed the syllables to work), but that's kind of basically what she said. ___________________________________________________________________ Why pay more to get Web access?
