ohayo minna-san! here's another not-so-genki ficcy from the itachi
about Himura Kenshin. slight spoilers for the Kyoto/Shishio arc and
Jinchuu/ Revenge arc. read with caution. >:) constructive c&c are

Boyz II Men - It's So Hard To Say Goodbye
Rurouni Kenshin - Himura Kenshin

<intro - okay...since the song just starts with the lyrics, i decided
to put a little intro talk to lead up to the actual vid.>

<Kenshin and Okubo stand face to face next to a window in Okubo's
office. "Kenshin...the government needs your help again. There is a
threat in Kyoto...Shishio Makoto is planning something."
"Shishio...Makoto?"
"I know this is asking a lot of you so I will give you time to think
it over."
"Arigatou Obuko-dono."
In the next scene, he walks out the front door of the building, his
eyes shadowed over by his bangs. "Son'na..." He walks away.>

How do I say goodbye to what we had?
The good times that made us laugh
Outweighed the bad.

<Dissolve to Kenshin standing on the bridge looking at the flowing
water. Slowly images of the Kenshin-gumi begin to form on various
places on the slightly rippling water. Having dinner at the Akebeko.
Yahiko being chased by Kaoru around the dojo. Megumi and Kaoru
fighting over Kenshin. They are slowly washed away by the current and
replaced by images of Yahiko being beaten by the yakuza, Sanosuke when
he still used the name Zanza and Kaoru being kidnapped by Jine. He
closes his eyes and the images are also taken away by the current. "I
must go.">

I thought we'd get to see forever
But forever's gone away
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

<Dissolve to the goodbye scene with Kaoru. "Ima made arigatou...soshite
sayonara. Sessha wa rurouni...mata nagaru de gozaru." He turns and
walks away. "Ken...shin... KENSHIN!" He walks on his eyes once again
hidden by his bangs. "Sumanai...Kaoru-dono...">

I don't know where this road
Is going to lead
All I know is where we've been
And what we've been through.

<Dissolve to Kenshin walking on the road to Kyoto. "Did I make the
right decision to go? Last time I thought I knew what I was fighting
for...then..." He recalls fighting in the war, and all the killing he
did for what he thought was the right thing. Then he remembers killing
the one thing he treasured most in this world with his own hands. He
stops walking.>

If we get to see tomorrow
I hope it's worth all the wait
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

<He shuts his eyes and shakes his head to brush away the painful
memory. "No. This is the right decision. I go to make sure that no
one... including myself... never lose anything precious to them
anymore." One by one, he pictures them all in his head, last of all
Kaoru. He opens his eyes. "Never again.">

And I'll take with me the memories
To be my sunshine after the rain
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

<He continues walking again, this time the memories of the train trip
from Tokyo to Yokohama playing back in his mind. The last thing he
recalls is the photograph taken, and it slowly dissolves to black.>

<Fade in to a shot of a stormy sky from the ground. It begins to rain.
Kenshin is sitting against a tree, trying to get out of the rain. He
remembers when it began to rain when he was with Kaoru. How he ever so
slightly held her hand. He smiles at the memory. "Kaoru-dono...sessha
kanarazu Kamiya Dojo kaeru..." Pan from Kenshin to the now clearing
dusk sky, Kaoru's smiling face overlapping it. Fade to black.>
