A Kenshin&Kaoru fanfic. Please send all comments to Nadya so she can forward them to be because I'm not on this list yet. She sat alone that night. Alone in her silent temple. She had no one to turn to now. Kenshin had gone to battle. he has gone and left her now. Far away. Could she stand it? So far she wasn't sure. She felt so rudderless without him. His smiling eyes, his mysterious scar, his full pouty lips, and his constant "oro?". So far she felt scared and alone. She sat alone in a far off corner. She twirled a peice of her long black hair around her index finger. Lonely and scared, she lit a candle. The flame flickered. It shone brightly. She stared at it. Until suddenly a warm breeze began to blow. The flame flickered one last time, and was gone. Just like kenshin. The breeze felt so good against her quivering skin. She got up out of her silent corner, and went outside to bath in the southern winds. As she looked around at the scenery, she couldn't help but cry, as she seen the waves gently breaking on the shore. Her temple was so desolate. Silent, like a brick wall. Not cheery like so many other temples. She looked into a nearby pool of water. All she could see was his face. She knew he might not return from battle. But she had to keep faith. Then the southern wind picked up again. A free ginkgo leaf fell into the water. It sank quickly. Just like her heart. Deep under the water, to be forever forgotten. Feeling tired she lay down in her field. The field that made her temple so dismal. Leaves crunched from a distance. ' Is he back?' she wondered. Kenshin lay down beside her. She hugged him close. He pushed her away. " I'm sorry." he said. Then he walked away. 'Come back!' she thought. but he was gone. Again. Gone back to his war. Would it ever end? She stumbled back to her temple, and lit her candle once more. This time it stayed lit. The warm southern wind played with the flame. But this time, it wasn't extinguished. This brought new hope to her eyes. She knew he would come back now. Leaving her flame to embrace the wind, she returned to her corner, and continued to wait. For that day, when he would return to her. And her silent temple of loneliness. ===================== I hope you liked this. Misao-chan would love comments on her fics. ^_^ Please send them to me and I will forward them to her while she's not on the list. ~Nadya -- ************************************************************************ NADYA aka ESTELLE aka KAORU-CHAN aka ANGEL MERCURY aka MOKONA NO MIKO aka YURI-CHAN aka TRIBBLE47 "Are you sure you won't change your mind?" -Gillian "Is there something wrong with the one I have?" -Spock (StarTrek movie 4 "The Voyage Home") RUROUNI KENSHIN PAGE: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Temple/2572/ MADLY IN LOVE WITH KENSHIN SOCIETY: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Subway/7423/ ANGEL MERCURY'S TEMPLE OF CREATIVITY: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Temple/2657/ MOKONA PAGE: http://members.tripod.com/~mokonapuu/ KAMATARI SHRINE: http://come.to/kamatari FUSHIGI YUUGI PAGE: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Garden/3100 NOVA SCOTIA WATERFALLS PAGE: http://www.geocities.com/Yosemite/Rapids/6683/ RING OF DARKNESS (Russian continuation of "Lord of the Rings") TRANSLATIONS: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Temple/2572/ring/index.html ************************************************************************ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Have you visited our new web site? http://www.onelist.com Onelist: Helping to create Internet communities
