From: "Pearl Louis" Hi! Please, please I am not insane. SAITOH IN THE DOGHOUSE Dinner time at the residence of Gorou Fujita: Saitoh Hajime sat cross-legged on the dining-room floor. As his wife brought out each dish, he tried talking to her but to no avail. "Look Tokio - " "I know you're mad - " "I didn't know that I would be gone so - " Saitoh sighed. Each time he tried to explain himself she would stalk out of the room or turn her back to him. It had been three days since she had last spoken to him and that was only to snarl, "So you're back." It was so unfair, how was *he* supposed to know that he would be gone for two weeks rather than two days or that the secrecy of the mission meant that he couldn't communicate with his wife. He had returned home, bloodied and bruised looking forward to nothing more than a long soak in the bath, some cold-soba, a nice long smoke and above all some time alone with his Tokio (in some fantasies he managed to somehow combine all four things at once. However he knew that though Tokio would agree to three of the above four things, there would be no way she would stay in the same room as one of his cigarettes). However it seemed that Chou had got him back for what he did to him a week ago by talking to Tokio first. So instead of being welcomed to his wife's loving arms he had to be satisfied with the sight of her back (while lovely indeed he would like it much better if he could see her front while she talked to him). He had tried *everything* in the last three days to get her to talk to him. He had bought her flowers and chocolates. He had even - damn it - helped with the housework (at least no-one saw him wearing that frilly apron). Worse, in an effort to appease her anger, he hadn't smoked a cigarette in three days and was now suffering from nicotine withdrawal. However it seemed that Tokio was not going to forgive him until she had gotten her revenge. Saitoh considered himself a brave man. He had fought and survived the Bakumatsu. He had been one of the most feared and respected of the Shinsengumi. He had put his life on the line innumerable times for the sake of his country yet - he freely admitted to himself (though of course to no-one else) the things he was most scared of were Tokio's revenge plots. 'Why oh why did I have to marry someone as sneaky and devious as me?' Tokio had brought in the last dish when there was a knock on the gate. Getting up, Saitoh went to the gate and opened it to find the entire Kenshingumi at his doorstop. Kenshin, Kaoru, Yahiko, Sano and Megumi all beamed happily up at him. "What do *you* want?" he asked none too nicely. "Hey Saitoh, we're here for dinner." replied Sano, grinning from ear to ear. "Ahou, if you think that I'm going to give free food to you, rooster boy - " "Hajime why don't you invite our guests in for dinner?" came a pleasant feminine voice from behind him. Shocked that his wife was finally speaking to him, all Saitoh could do was to hold the gate open as the Kenshingumi filtered in. However once the shock wore off he grabbed hold of his wife's hand and pulled her into the kitchen. Before he could speak she covered his mouth with one of her hands. "Yes I did invite them and as to how I met them I'll tell you later." Saitoh scowled. Tokio gave him her beautiful smile that lit up her green eyes and made him remember why he loved her. She moved closer to him. He started to tremble. Her hands moved up his chest to go around his neck. Saitoh brought his hands around her narrow waist. She went onto her tippy-toes and leaned closed to him. He closed his eyes in anticipation. Those eyes flew open in shock when he felt her pat him on the top of his head. "Good boy, wolf-chan." she said. "Don't call me that, it makes me sound like a dog." She stuck out her tongue playfully at him. "Saitoh honey," she whispered into his ear. "I'll forgive you if you do one thing for me." "And what's that?" "Close your eyes." He obeyed. "Now open your mouth." She quickly placed something in his mouth which he instinctively bit down on. Saitoh froze when he heard muffled sounds of laughter. Turning around he saw the entire Kenshingumi at the doorway to the kitchen trying hard not to laugh (and not succeeding by the way). Suddenly he realized what his wife had put in his mouth - a large bone. Spitting it out he said, "You do realize that I'll have to kill you now." Later that night. "You knew that they were there, didn't you?" Saitoh accused his wife who was lying on the bed. "Would I do something like that?" she replied giving him a wide-eyed innocent look. "...." Saitoh hesitated at the edge of the bed, uncertain whether he was welcome or not. "Don't worry I forgive you." Tokio smiled seductively at her husband. As he turned out the lights, she whispered in his ear. "You can bite me all you like now, my darling wolf." NOTES: I know, I know that this is bad but I had to write it. I was suddenly hit by inspiration while I was thinking of scenes to put in the next chapter of Wolf's Honour. This is a spam-fic of course but its based on a scene in the next chapter of Wolf's Honour (between 8year old Tokio and 12 year old Hajime). It was originally going to be called, Tokio's Revenge but then the bone thing came to me and I remembered what "in the doghouse" means....Please please don't kill me or have me committed for writing this.
