Rico" Hi, all! How's everybody doing on their finals? Only one more final to go for me then I'll be free (whoopie!) Anyways, here's part three of LLMH and poor Misao is still going through hell. I like Misao, I really do. She's my second favorite character (second only to Aoshi-sama ^-^). Here's the fic. Oh, yeah, Kenshin isn't mine (as if you didn't know). ******** Lost Loves and Mending Hearts by, P.Rico ('//' denotes thoughts) Misao ran. Her vision was blurred with tears, but she still ran. All the while thinking //Why? Why?// Suddenly, she tripped over something and fell. She laid there for awhile, crying. The scene in the temple played itself over and over in her head. //How could he...why?// she kept asking herself. Then a cold voice inside her said //Did you really think he could fall in love with you?// That jolted Misao back into reality. She raised herself up on her elbows and found herself in the middle of the forest, next to a small stream. She crawled over to the stream and splashed some cool water on her face. She then looked down at her reflection. //Does it really surprise you that he found somebody else?// "No," she answered aloud. //You were a kid when he left. Did you really expect him to return you feelings?// "No." But facing this only made things harder. She buried her face in her hands, not wanting to look at her reflection. "Aoshi-sama," she whispered. "I love you." ----- Aoshi and Megumi emerged from the temple together. Aoshi was showing some reluctance in telling the others of their relationship. Megumi understood. He wasn't the type to easily express his feelings. He was even cold to her many times. But she couldn't help but feel there was something more to his hesitation. She soon got her answer. She stepped on something and heard that something crunch. Afraid of what she might see, she still looked down and saw a small blue bag. She stepped off of it and Aoshi picked it up. "Misao," she heard him mutter. It all fell into place. Megumi had seen the way Misao doted on Aoshi. He was probably afraid of hurting her. "Um," she began. "I have to go check on Ken-san and the others. I'll see you tonight at dinner?" Aoshi nodded then leaned over and kissed her lightly. Aoshi stared down at the bag for a long while after Megumi left. //Did she see us? Did she know?// He sighed. When he left, she was just a child. He thought that she was just suffering a common case of hero-worship and that she would grow out of it soon. He now knew that was not the case. But he didn't love her. Not in that way. He sighed again and walked back into the temple. ----- In the forest, Misao rose to her feet and wiped away her tears. She remembered something that she had heard Jiya say: "If you love something, let it go. If it comes back, it's yours. If it doesn't , it never was." She looked at her reflection in the stream one more time then turned away. "Aoshi-sama, I'm letting you go." End pt3 ********* Was that kinda short? It seemed like a good place to stop. As always, C&C is welcomed. Just don't flame me, or I'll send the Battousai after you ^-^. _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
