From: "P. Rico" Hello, As promised here's my fic "Warm Embraces". This came about because while bored at work one day I sketched this little pic: http://www.angelfire.com/or/roro/images/skmisaocoat.JPG and decided I needed a fic to go along with it so... Anyways, here's the fic. P.S. There is an extended version which I am NOT posting on this list for personal reasons (nothing against you guys) but if you want to read it, e-mail me PRIVATELY and I'll see what I can do. Thanks. Standard disclaimers apply. Mush warning. I think I had eaten too much sugar when I wrote this ************************* Warm Embraces An RK fic by P.Rico Misao walked down the hallway of the Aoiya being careful not to drop the object in her hands. She looked down at the small piece of cake and smiled. Her first attempt at baking and it came out great. Everybody was so surprized, including herself. The cake was so good, in fact, that she was barely able to steal a small piece away before every body else devoured it. She was determined that nobody else would get this piece because this piece was for her Aoshi-sama. "Aoshi-sama," she called out as she slid open the door to his room. "I've got..." She stopped when she saw the room was empty. "Where did he go?" She wondered aloud. Entering the room, she looked around. Misao noticed Aoshi's trench coat was lying, neatly folded, on a trunk. "Well, if that's still here, he can't be far," she reasoned. "Probably somewhere around the Aoiya." She sighed wearily. It had been a long day and now it had caught up with her. "I guess I could just leave it here. But I don't trust those cake vultures running around here not to track it down and eat it," she thought. She slid the door shut. "I'll just wait until Aoshi-sama comes back. She set the cake down on Aoshi's desk and went to sit on a large pillow in the corner. It was then she became aware of the slight chill in the room. She shivered. "Why is it so cold in here?" She walked over to the closet, intending to get a blanket when she caught sight of Aoshi's trench coat once again. She slowly approached it as if it were a wild animal. She stared down at it for awhile, then reached out her hand and began fingering the collar. "It's soft," Misao mused. "And warm, too, I bet." Making her decision, she picked up the coat and went back to the pillow. Slowly. Misao unfolded it and looked it over. "It's so long," she giggled. "Of course, Aoshi-sama is so tall." She slowly wrapped it around her shoulders and slipped her arms into it's long sleeves. Her arms barely reached half way. She then wrapped the coat around herself as tightly as possible. "It's so warm and soft." She thought. She brought the large collar to and rubbed it against her cheek. She took a deep breath, taking note of the scent. "It smells like him. For some reason, I feel so safe and warm. It's almost like being in his embrace." Misao inhaled deeply once again and curled up on the pillow. Now comfortable, it wasn't long before she fell asleep. Aoshi walked in not long afterwards and was surprised to find her there. He closed the door, barely noticing the cake on his desk, choosing instead to focus on Misao, the way her small body all but disappeared under his coat. Aoshi walked over and kneeled besides her. He took a few moments to just look at her. Finally, Aoshi carefully took Misao up and cradled her in his arms. She squirmed slightly before settling down with her head resting on his chest. Aoshi was amazed at how good if felt to hold her. He tightened his embrace and smiled slightly when he heard Misao sigh contently. He brushed a stray hair away from her forehead and looked down at her face; so young, so lovely. He sighed and leaned back against the wall. He knew he would have to let her go before she woke up, but he also knew that the longer he held her, the more will power it would take to do so. He looked down at her once again. "I'll cross that bridge when I come to it," he finally decided. "But now...now, I'll live for the moment." ********************* I warned you it was sappy. Way sappier than I had originally intended it but I couldn't think of an ending so just kept writing and ended up with that...oh, well, I think it came out okay anyways. Laters and thanks for reading. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Thousands of Stores. Millions of Products. All in one place. Yahoo!
