From: "Sekihara Tae" It's Christmas, and this is in the spirt, so... Enjoy? -Tae How Enishi Stole Christmas Everyone at the Kamiya dojo liked Christmas a lot But Enishi, who lived just North of the dojo... did NOT. Enishi hated Kenshin, and the whole Christmas Season -- Oh, you can ask why... but no one quite knows the reason. It could be the fact that his sister was dead, Or maybe he just wasn't quite right in the head, But I think that the most likely reason, you see... Was that Enishi was jealous of the Kenshin-gumi. Still, whatever the reason, with nary a twinge, He stood there on Christmas Eve plotting revenge. Staring down at his plans with a maniacal grin, "It's perfect!" he cried, "They can't possibly win!" For he knew at the dojo everyone would be busy, Trimming and decorating in a holiday tizzy. "Go ahead! Hang your stockings!" he snarled with a sneer, "But tomorrow's my jinchuu! It's practically here!" Then he laughed, with his heartbeat crazily drumming, "Oh ho ho! I found a way to keep Christmas from coming!" For tomorrow he knew, everyone at the dojo, Would wake bright and early, and they'd look for Kaoru. Oh, how they'd call her, as they searched for some clue! "Kaoru!" they'd shout... yes, that's just what they'd do! With Kaoru missing, there'd be no Christmas feast, Instead they'd keep looking -- North, South, West and East. There'd be no Christmas pudding, and no rare roast beast. Roast beast without her wasn't a feast in the least. And then they'd do something he liked most of all! Everyone in the gumi, the tall and the small, Would stand close together, with Christmas snow falling They'd stand hand-in-hand... and then they'd start bawling! They'd cry! And they'd cry! And they'd CRY! CRY! CRY! CRY! And the more Enishi thought of this sad Christmas cry, The more that he gloated, "My jinchuu is nigh! Why, for more than ten years I've waited for this... I WILL stop Christmas from coming... for sis!" For he'd had an idea... An awful idea... Enishi'd had a WONDERFUL, AWFUL IDEA! "I know just what to do!" Enishi laughed in his throat, And he quickly put on his Santy Claus hat and his coat. And he chuckled, and chortled "What a marvelous trick! With this coat and this hat, I'll look just like Saint Nick!" "All I need is a reindeer..." Enishi looked 'round, But since reindeer are scarce, there were none to be found. Did that stop Enishi? No! He simply said: "If I can't find a reindeer, Gein will make one instead!" And he called for his henchman, who with wire and thread, Produced a large puppet with horns on its head. Mad with excitement Enishi took up the reins Of a ramshackle sleigh and he shouted for Gein. Then Enishi said "We're off" and the sleigh started to go, Speeding along the trail toward the Kamiya dojo. All the windows were dark... no one knew he was there The fools were all dreaming sweet dreams without care When he came for Kaoru -- she hadn't a prayer. "Got it in one," the Enishi Claus hissed, And he slid open her door, empty bag in his fist. He slid through the shadows, across the wood floor, Although it wasn't like Santa to just use the door. He paused only once, when Kaoru shifted about, Knowing that if she saw him she'd probably cry out. Then he reached her futon, and knelt by her side, Throwing his sack over her head as her eyes opened wide. Tossing her over his shoulder, he rose to his feet, But at the door stood Tsubame-chan, timid and sweet. She stared at Enishi, and said "Santy Claus, why? Why are you taking Kaoru-san...? WHY?!" But, you know, that Enishi was so smart and so slick... He thought up a lie, and he thought it up quick! "Why Tsubame-chan!" he lied with a grin, "Kaoru needs a present to give to Kenshin! So I'm taking her home to my workshop, my dear. She'll pick a gift there, then we'll bring it back here." And his lie fooled Tsubame, who was still half asleep, And she went back to bed with nary a peep And once Tsubame-chan was tucked safely away, Enishi took Kaoru and dashed for his sleigh. It was a quarter past dawn, everyone still a-bed, Everyone still a-snooze, when Enishi fled. Kaoru, beside him, struggled and kicked, All the while cursing how'd Tsubame'd been tricked. Back at his hideout, Enishi capered with glee, As Kaoru demanded, "Enishi! Release me!" "Poor Kenshin-gumi!" he was nastily humming, "They're finding out now that no Christmas is coming! They're just waking up! I know just what they'll do! Their mouths will hang open a minute or two Then everyone at the dojo will all cry KAORU!" "That's a noise," snickered Enishi, "That I simply must hear!" So he threw open a window, and lifted a hand to his ear. And he did hear a sound rising over the snow... It started in low... then it started to grow. But this sound wasn't sorrowful... this sound sounded MAD! And Enishi grew frightened... yes, just a tad. "Enishi! Kisama!" He heard Kenshin yell, The Battousai's fury ringing clear as a bell, "Everyone at the dojo wants Kaoru-dono back! Don't deny that you've got her, she's there in that sack!" The fight which followed didn't last very long, For Kenshin was angry, and also quite strong. And with his bottom ice-cold in the snow, Enishi sat puzzling as he watched the two go. He couldn't believe it -- Christmas had come! Despite all his planning -- Despite what he'd done! He wondered and puzzled, trying to figure it out, And finally he realized what Christmas was about. "It's for giving and forgiving!" he declared with a shout, "Oneesama would want it... of that there's no doubt!" And what happened then? Well at that dojo they say, That Enishi's anger and jealousy just vanished away. And once the magic of Christmas had opened his eyes, He rushed back to the dojo, to apologize. And he stayed for the feast, though Sano was suspicious -- Kaoru hadn't cooked it, so it was delicious! --------------------------- ONElist Sponsor ---------------------------- GRAB THE GATOR!
